Obituary

Rachel Dayan, nee Pinto, of West Rogers Park, formerly of Marrakesh, Morocco. Beloved wife of the late Albert. Cherished mother of Jacques Dayan, Serge Dayan, Marc Dayan, Clement Dayan, Aviva Dayan Malatka (Lee Malatka), Danielle Dayan and Gary Dayan, and beloved grandmother of Jenna Dayan, Marc Dayan Jr, Curtis Bernard, John Bernard, Jacqueline Bernard, and Chloe Dayan. Many loving nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her. Known for her legendary dinners, particularly at holiday times, and for her traditional Moroccan Hennas. Rachel was a captivating storyteller, and engaged and entertained people with her many recollections of her younger years in Morocco, stories that were made all the more entertaining with her signature sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rachel's name to any of the following: Hospice of Santa Cruz County, http://www.hospicesantacruz.org, Alzheimer's Association, http://www.alz.org, or Sephardic Congregation, http://sephardiccong.org.
