Philip Andrew Appelbaum, 65, devoted son of Judith and the late Robert Appelbaum; loving brother of Henry “Chip” (Elizabeth) and Barbara Appelbaum; cherished uncle of Danielle (Ari) Samo and Jonathan (Sally) Steele; adored great uncle of Jonah, Benjamin, Liev and Sebastian. Graveside service, Sunday 12 PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joy Junction Homeless Shelter (www.joyjunction.org), Roadrunner Food Bank (www.rrfb.org), or the charity of your choice.
