Obituary

Norma Stern, nee Retchin, age 90, of Chicago and Boca Raton, FL; beloved wife and best friend for 70 wonderful years of Lee B. Stern; loving mother of Jeffrey (Linda) Stern, Danny (Robin) Stern, January (William W. Kimball III) Stern, and Kenny Stern; adored “Mama” of Michael (Bree), Jill (Ilan), Scott (Leah), David (Elaine), Adam (Lauren), Samson, Alexa, Rachel, Danielle, Michelle, and Samantha; proud great grandmother of Milo, Jed, Etta, Emmett, Andrew, Cody, Oliver, and Louie; devoted daughter of the late Louis and the late Laura Retchin; cherished sister of Elaine (late Sam) Bronstein and the late Mitzi (late Al) Tucker; treasured aunt and friend to many. Norma was lovingly cared for by Merle, Maribel, and Maria. Our Mama was filled with absolute joy. She was warm, unselfish, and never complained. Mama ALWAYS expressed unique attention to each and every member of our family, supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with optimism, strength and boundless love. Mama also had a special passion for Russian music and dancing, which she so enjoyed sharing. Our Mama showed us the way and we are so very grateful and better for her gentle guidance. Mama is always in our hearts and with us forever and ever. We love you Mama. The graveside service and shiva is private.
