Obituary
Michael Frank Schaffer, 30, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, September 9th, 2021. He is survived by his loving mother, Deann Horton; beloved fiancée-in-love, Jordan Cashmyer; daughter, Lyla Nalani Schaffer; siblings, Stephanie (Larry) Ordet, Rebecca (Steven) Siegel, Brandon (Nick) Stephens-Seckler, and Jessie Schaffer; grandmothers, Myrna Carmichael Horton, and Sylvia "C-Me" Schaffer; mother, Deann Horton; and many more loving friends and family. He was predeceased by his father, a man whom Michael adored and revered, Robert Schaffer.
Michael was an extremely loyal and devoted father, partner, son, brother, and friend, and everyone he loved knew he loved them. He was a bright light in the lives of everyone he knew, and he brought great joy and warmth to everyone he met with his one-of-a-kind sense of humor, and his generous and respectful nature. He had a profound passion for his work and career as a chef, both at home cooking for family as well as at work in world-class fine dining restaurants. Michael was also a spiritual man, and he believed in the virtue of loving people unconditionally. He will be missed forever.
Services at Hebrew Young Men's Cemetery, 5830 Windsor Mill Road, Woodlawn, MD 21207, on Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Reception follows at Nick’s Fish House, 2600 Insulator Drive, Baltimore, MD 21230. Please omit flowers.
