Melvin Siegel

Obituary

Melvin A. Siegel, age 92, passed away in Geneva, Illinois on August 20, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Ann P. Siegel, his sister Evelyn Holzman, and his sons Robert G. Siegel and Scott E. Siegel. He is survived by his daughters, Diane Siegel (Theodore) Danoff and Idy Siegel (Dan) Spezzano, and his granddaughters Michelle Siegel Danoff, Amy Siegel Danoff, Shayla Margaret Spezzano and Rebecca Rayne Spezzano.

Mr. Siegel received his B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. He was an executive at Olivetti Underwood and ITT before becoming the owner and C.E.O. of J&J Giftwares. After his retirement, he was an enthusiastic volunteer at SCORE, serving as a mentor for many aspiring entrepreneurs.

Mr. Siegel lived most of his life in Stamford, Connecticut. He was a devoted father and grandfather, an avid tennis player (playing until age 90), and a classical music afficionado. Memorial services will be held at Levinson’s funeral home in Baltimore, with interment to follow at Hebrew Friendship Cemetery.
