Matthew Thormann Morgenthau, age 78, of Chicago, distributor of Watkins Products, graduate of Blackburn College, Carlinville, IL; beloved husband for almost 46 years of the late Linda Morgenthau, nee Schalk; son of the late Hans and Irma Morgenthau; brother of Susanna (late Alan Mintz) Morgenthau; uncle of Amira and Avital Mintz-Morgenthau; brother-in-law of Edward (Diane) Schalk and Kathy (Rich) Schalk-Greene; treasured, constant and loyal friend of Gene (Carole) Meyers. Matthew was lovingly cared for by his devoted friend Patricia White Stevenson. Matthew was an elected Community Representative of the Local School Council at Mary Lyon Elementary School and Steinmetz College Prep. The graveside service and shiva will be private. The service will be Zoomed Monday, 2:30 p.m. CST at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Under Recent Services, click on Matthew’s photograph and scroll down to Service Details to register for the Zoom.
