Larry Sheldon Smith, age 88 of Chicago and Lake Worth, FL; retired Export Manager for the Union Special Machine Company; beloved husband and best friend for 63 years of Phyllis, nee Zagon; loving father of Dr. Michael Smith, Lois (Mark) Zuckerberg, and Lisa (Ramil) Mendoza; adored grandpa of Erin, Corey, and Olivia Benjoya, Jamie, Joey, and Kylie Mendoza; devoted son of the late Harry and the late Sally Smith; cherished brother of the late Richard (Mary Lee) Smith; dear brother-in-law of the late Don (late Rhona) Zagon; treasured uncle and friend of many. Larry’s family was the most important thing in his life. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and a member of Phi Epsilon Pi fraternity at the University of Illinois. He will be dearly missed, especially for his great sense of humor and kindness. The graveside service and shiva will be private.
