Obituary

Judith Korngold Kubert, 96 years and 10 months old. Beloved wife for 23 years of the late Joseph M. Kubert; dear mother to David (Peggy) Kubert, the late Anne (Richard) Nathan, and the late Charlie (Karen Muchin) Kubert; loving Nana to Joseph (Elizabeth), Kate, and Jonathan Kubert, Andrew, Thomas and William Nathan, Jessica and Abigail Kubert; loving daughter of the late Flora and the late Karol Korngold; cherished sister to the late Ruth Korngold Travis.

Judy was born in St. Louis in 1924 and moved to Chicago in 1951 to start her married life and family with Joe. They moved to Glencoe in 1954. Nonetheless, Judy always considered St. Louis home, where she grew up surrounded by her loving family including many aunts, uncles, cousins and, of course, her wonderful friends. There she was the belle of the ball, riding in her convertible, hanging out on the college campus and smoking cigarettes.

Judy was a trouper who worked hard at staying alive all these years. She was the queen bee, and her children went above and beyond to make sure she had a comfortable life and was able to stay in her beautiful home until the end. The family wishes to thank her devoted and loving caregiver Ula, who added many quality years to her life.
