Jay Melvin "Mel" Simon, 89, beloved son of Etta and Arthur (both z"l); devoted husband of 63 years to Sheila (nee Sherman); dear brother to Julius (Ruth) Simon (both z"l), Helen (Herman z"l) Lewis, and Phyllis (Louis z"l) Stock; loving father of Glenn (Randi), Lawrence, and Deborah; treasured grandpa to Aaron (Vanessa) and Shira (Seth); adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, www.ilholocaustmuseum.org. Chapel service Tuesday, January 17, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
