In Loving Memory of

Janet Hyman

February 23rd, 2021

Obituary

Janet Hyman nee Satlin, died suddenly on February 23, 2021 at the age of 86 at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Janet was a long time Chicagoan, a successful entrepreneur, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and (a recent) great-grandmother. Janet met the love of her life - Sheldon Hyman - at Drake University, and they were married happily for 65 years. Janet built an all-female travel agency called Travel Duet, growing the company from two employees in 1980 to 50+ employees in 2004. In retirement, she was an avid Mah-Jongg player. But her real accomplishment was being the matriarch of her family. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. She is survived by her husband Sheldon Hyman, daughters Joni Hyman, Linda (Craig) Floch, Susan (Wayne) Ray, grandchildren Jared Floch (Courtney Andres), Brandon Floch (Stephanie Picon), Justin Floch, Brittany Floch, Brett Kraiman (Fiancee: Kate Schulze), Blake Kraiman, and great-grandson Elijah Floch. She was looking forward to Brett's wedding and taking Elijah to Disney World. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks. Private graveside service. Please attend via Livestream, Tuesday, 12 Noon. For the link to view the service, shiva information or to leave condolences, Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, www.shalom2.com or (847) 255-3520.
