Israel Rittberg passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 30th. Israel lived with positivity and passion and supported his family as an entrepreneur and early innovator in the emerging business software industry. He was born in Romania and later moved to Israel where he served in the Israeli Defense Forces as an intelligence officer. Like many who served in the Israeli army, Israel planned to travel the world, but his plans were changed when he decided to first study for his Masters Degree at SUNY Buffalo. There, he met his future wife Ellen with whom he had 3 children. He finished his studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee during which time he also worked on a NASA project. Israel was a pioneer in the software industry, launching Raish Enterprises, a property management software firm in the 1980s. After leading his business for 2 decades, he became a consultant. He enjoyed working with clients and helping solve problems. He is survived by his beloved three children Jay Rittberg, Matt Ritter and Kimberly Rittberg, and their spouses Emily, Jessica and Alexander Nyren and his grandchildren Samuel, Sadie, Lily and Nathaniel, his brother, Eli Rittberg and his former partners Márcia Vitolo and Ellen Rittberg.
