Obituary

Miss Irma Judith Herr passed away on Nov 18th, at the age of 93, at her home in Washington DC. She was born February 10, 1928, in Hughesville PA, as one of five daughters to Rose (Gladstone) and Ellis Herr. She was preceded in death by sisters; Bernice Herr, Mrs. Katie Balliet, Mrs. Anita Holm and Harriet Herr. She is survived by niece; Mrs. Michele (Balliet) Erskine; niece. Mrs. Robin (Holm) Meyer; and nephew, Ronald Holm, and their families, and will be greatly missed by all.

Irma lived in DC for most of her life after leaving Mt. Rainier MD, where she lived with sisters Bernice and Harriet. She spent her career in publishing at American Publishing before working in administration with the Bureau of National Affairs. Irma enjoyed all that DC offered, but also loved to travel; from car trips with her sisters, to visiting family in Florida, to tours in Europe. Bus trips to Atlantic City were her favorite in retirement.

As a long term cancer survivor, Irma handled further challenges stoically even when robbed of her active lifestyle by a sudden health decline over a decade ago.

Funeral services and interment will be held at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD, on Tuesday, Nov 30, at 12 pm. Please omit flowers.
