Obituary

Hilda “Hildy” Lanoff, nee Cantin, age 100

Beloved wife of the late Samuel M. Lanoff. Loving mother of Linda (Donald) Zimmerman, Jill (Max) Perlman, Donna Lanoff, and Howard (Babs) Lanoff. Proud grandmother of Amy Zimmerman, Adam Zimmerman, Brett Zimmerman, Jodi LaMell, Jason (Cheryl) LaMell, Jenna Lanoff, Maia Lanoff and the late Justin Perlman. Adored great grandmothAer of Ava and Norah Zimmerman, Jake Zimmerman, Logan LaMell, and Rylie and Skylar LaMell. Dear friend and aunt to Marci Cantin. Beloved sister of the late Ann Field and the late Hal Cantin. Will be missed by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Hilda was a warm, wise, intelligent woman who took advantage of a long, fulfilling life. She had a loving 65-year marriage and was intimately connected to her family and friends. All were fascinated by her stories of the past and many travels. Everyone who knew her, basked in her loving kindness. At the age of 100, Hildy was fully cognizant, directing her own medical care and life choices. She remembered events and facts better than most of the younger people who enjoyed being in her presence. She had a beautiful life. To keep everyone safe and healthy, the internment service will be private. To attend the funeral live stream, please visit the website, www.cjfinfo.com, on Tuesday, at 12PM CST. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 South Riverside Plaza Chicago, Illinois 60606, www.heart.org and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 954 West Washington Boulevard, Unit 305, Chicago, Illinois 60607, www.lls.org.
