Obituary

Henry Benesch, of Owings Mills, Maryland, passed away on Monday, January 11th, 2021 at the age of 101. He is survived by his loving children, Michael (Sara) Benesch, Jerry (Martha) Benesch, Nadine Benesch Fox (Leon Fox), Barry Benesch (Debbie Corwin Benesch), grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessica) Benesch, Brenda (Marc) Kouyoumdjian, Adam (Randi) Benesch, Justin (Julie) Benesch, Stefanie (Jordan) Stewart, Bryan (Fran) Stein, Eric Benesch, and Jared Benesch, great grandchildren, Arielle Kouyoumdjian, Jordan Stein, Alanna Stein, Jake Benesch, Mollie Benesch, Hudson Benesch, Naya Benesch, Brooklyn Stewart, Brennan Stewart, Grace Benesch, Sam Benesch, and Julian Benesch, and nieces, Lynne Johnson and Maggie Reese. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Leah Benesch (nee Medin), siblings, Phillip Benesch, Sally DiMatti, Rose Benesch, and Esther Benesch, and parents, Moritz and Catherine Benesch.

Henry led a meaningful and special life full of hobbies, passions and traditions.  He enjoyed Smoking Cigars, Drinking Good Bourbon, Playing Poker, watching the Orioles and Ravens, travelling the world, and most important of all, spending time with his family.  Henry enjoyed working at the race track, he liked to watch the ponies race. His most recent job was helping at his grandson Adam's brewery, Union Craft. He was known as Zadie to everyone he worked with at Union Craft and made every person he knew feel like his family. His birthday parties were considered the best parties in Baltimore and the folks that worked with him always loved his wisdom, sage and guidance.  Henry generously donated his time and energy to organizations he cared deeply for, including Jewish War Veterans, USO, Mason Yedz Grotto, and B'nai B'rith.  He will be remembered as a hardworking veteran of WWII and the Army Reserve, for his familiar presence at Union Craft, and the love he had for his family.  Henry will be missed by all who knew him.  May his memory be a blessing.

A Virtual Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 at 9:30am. Please press the view webast button above to view the service. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers.
