Obituary

Helen Mae Hauck.

On December 30, 2021, surrounded by her family, Helen Mae Hauck passed away into eternity. Born Helen Mae Cohen on August 3, 1937 as the only child of Jeanette Cohen. A 1955 graduate of Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Helen developed a high appreciation of interior design, as well as Asian culture, and enjoyed numerous road trips with her husband and business partner exploring obscure shops and supper clubs. She delighted in the companionship of her affectionate “junkyard cat” Meow Meow, and her many grandchildren, great and otherwise. She was also an avid Scrabble player, always beating her competition. As age began to limit her mobility Helen sought companionship in her occasional walks or weekly lunch dates with either of her two sons, Mike and Doug.

Helen is survived by: Beloved husband of 33 years William Hauck; sons Dr. Michael (Erin) Levi and their children Zachary (Erica) Levi, Samuel (Steph) Levi, Hanna Levi (Jay Stazie); Douglas (Helaine Meyer) Levi and his daughters Jenna Levi, Marissa Levi. Step-Children - Michael (Sarah) Hauck, David Hauck, Jeffrey (Laura) Hauck, Wendy (Jamie) Garetson, Kara (John) Dolezal, Tara (Erik) Bjork. Grandchildren, Bradlee Garetson, Chelsea (Matt) George, Kiersten (Chris)Fedi, Joshua Hauck, Katie Hauck, McKenzie Hauck, Taylor Williams, Michaela Sebastiani, Seth Sebastiani, David Hauck, Isabella Hauck, Blake Hauck, Isaac Hauck, Great-Grandchildren, Jayce George, Piper and Reina Fedi, and Lilyana George. Special Friends - Annde Levi, and Brenda Nishimoto. Preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Cohen and her best friend, Rose Schupack. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM - Oakridge Cemetery, 4301 W. Roosevelt Rd., Hillside Illinois.
