Obituary

Elaine Feinner, 97, formerly of Peoria passed away peacefully on December 19th at Silverado Memory Care in Highland Park, IL where she had resided for four years. She was born on September 4, 1920 in Canton, IL to Ruth and Barney Gavenda. She attended the University of Illinois Champaign where she met her future husband, Stanley Feinner, who preceded her in death on April 13, 2009. They were married at the Pierre Marquette Hotel in Peoria on June 22, 1941 and had a wonderful marriage for 68 years. Elaine is survived by her two children Anita (Stephen) Hamburg of Champaign, IL and Elyse Perlen of Northbrook, IL, three grandchildren, Jeff (Jaimy) Hamburg, Scott (Tobi) Perlen and Jennifer Perlen. She also has five great grandchildren, Gabe, Goldie, Jacob, Gabriella, and Zachary who she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Bette of Woodland Hills, CA and many wonderful nephews and a niece. Elaine was very active in her synagogue Sisterhood organization and worked for many charitable organizations in fund raising efforts. Whenever someone needed help or advice, she was always there and wherever she went people loved an admired her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Many thanks for the love and wonderful care she received from the Silverado staff and her private caregivers Jeanna and Marilyn. Our family is eternally grateful to these people. Graveside service Thursday 1PM at Peoria Hebrew Cemetery, 2807 W. Heading Avenue, Peoria, IL 61604. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
