Obituary

On October 12, 2021, Dvora Fromberg (née Assraf) of Owings Mills, MD, passed away at the age of 67. Dvora was the beloved wife of Jack Fromberg; loving mother of Oren (Dr. Laurie) Fromberg, Dr. David Fromberg, and Simeon (Carly) Fromberg; loving sister of Sophie (Rani) Stern, Yaffa (Ilan) Engel, Meir (Edna) Assraf, Dan (Lilach) Assraf, and Tamar (Henry) Etsebban; loving sister-in-law Tziporah Fromberg; dear grandmother of Maor Fromberg, Naomi Fromberg, Tomer Fromberg, and Mozelle Fromberg; devoted daughter of the late Jacotte and Asher Assraf; and devoted daughter-in-law of the late Solomon and Miriam Fromberg.

Dvora was born in Haifa, Israel on December 17, 1953. She was raised in Yokneam, Israel with her three sisters and two brothers after her parents Immigrated from Casablanca, Morocco in 1951.

In 1973, Dvora served in the Golani Brigade of the Israeli Defense Forces and fought during the Yom Kippur War.

After finishing her army service, Dvora came to the United States in 1974 as a tourist.

Dvora met the love of her life Jack Fromberg at the Baltimore JCC during Simchas Torah in 1974. Two weeks later, Jack proposed and they were married on October 1, 1975.

Dvora and Jack welcomed their sons Oren in 1981, David in 1983, and Simeon in 1989, and raised them in Valley Heights, MD.

Dvora cultivated a strong bond between her family in Israel and her family in the United States. She enjoyed frequent family visits to Israel. Her sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces were always welcomed for extended periods of time in her home. Dvora encouraged and was instrumental in helping them with their education and professional development.

Beloved as a talented artist by her clients, Dvora applied her skills towards styling hair for 45 years.

Dvora was known for her warmth and compassion towards her friends and clients, as well as prioritizing frequent blood donations and charitable causes.

When not working, Dvora enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to many beautiful and romantic destinations around the world.

Her home was always the center of her universe and loved hosting many holidays and celebrations with family and friends.

Dvora will be sorely missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and a host of family members that live in Israel and beyond.
