Obituary

Dorothy H. "Dodo" Gaertner, nee Hess, lived a remarkable 102 years, a life well lived. Dodo had such a sweet and loving disposition that endeared her to everyone she met. She was a recreational therapist for many years at the Lieberman Center. Dodo was the beloved wife of the late Robert Gaertner; loving mother of Jan (Barry) Cain and Betty (Will Hendricks) Scott; adored grandmother of Robin (R-Jay) Marcus, Wendy (Michael) Moskovitz, Sara (Ryan Murdock) Scott, and Zachary (Emma Goulart) Scott; proud great grandmother of Talia, Adam, Lucas, Owen, Elise, Lachlan, and Mila; devoted daughter of the late Robert and the late Sara Hess; cherished sister of the late Miriam "Mimi" (late Ben) Chernov; treasured aunt and friend to many. Dodo was lovingly cared for by Tessy and her family, Tina, Nikki, and Christine for 8 years. Memorial Service Monday, 1:30 p.m. at Congregation B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim (BJBE), 1201 Lake Cook Rd., Deerfield. Interment private.
