Obituary

Cyril Satorsky, of Dallas, Texas, formerly Baltimore, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lena Dale Matthews Satorsky; children, Leah Vivian Satorsky (Charles Zerner), and Sidney Satorsky; and grandchildren, Jack Zerner, and Arthur Zerner. He was predeceased by his parents, Sidney Satorsky and Leah Flichtenreich Satorsky.

Cyril will be remembered as an artist, a professor, a leader, but most importantly a loving husband, father, and grandfather.   Cyril Attended Leeds College of Art, he would receive his National Diploma in Design in 1944. He attended the Royal College of Art after being awarded a scholarship to the renowned school.  Many accolades at the Royal College of Art afforded him experiences and opportunities that continued to shape his art and perspective of the World.  His professional career included educating students at Leicester University, Hammersmith College of Art, Camberwell College of Arts and Crafts. He came to the United States to work in publication design at the University of Texas, Austin. Following his work at University of Texas he taught at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where he taught design and printmaking for years, and served as chairman of the department of visual communication.  His life of professional accomplishments are even more impressive when considering his biggest priority in his life was always his family.  Cyril will be missed by all who knew him. May his memory be for a blessing always.

Services at Baltimore Hebrew Berryman's Lane Cemetery, 318 Berrymans Lane, Reisterstown, MD, 21136, on Sunday, September 5th, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Please omit flowers.
