Barbara H. Frankel

Obituary

Barbara Charlotte Hillman Frankel 1929-2021, 91, was born and lived in the Chicago area her entire life. Married to the late Dr. David Frankel in 1949 she had two children, Karen (William) and Bruce (Nancy). Barbara was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers Norman and Ralph. She is survived by her two children, grandchildren Andrew, Benjamin, Jay, Amy and Jonathan and two great-grandchildren Nadia and Timothy. An artist all of her life, Barbara also excelled at interior design. Her work was published in Better Homes and Gardens magazine and other design publications. She created beautiful spaces for residences and offices both professionally and for family and friends. Barbara was a Ravinia Festival volunteer for many years. She was the ticket sales chairwoman in Lincolnwood for 20 years. Barbara and David were life-long travelers, taking many trips to Europe, France being a frequent destination. She will be missed by her loving family and friends. To keep everyone safe and healthy, the interment service will be private. To attend the funeral live stream, please visit our website.
