Arthur “Irwin” Schmidt, 93

Beloved husband of 70 years to Mae ( née Rosman). Loving father of Cynthia (Brett) Clamage, Elizabeth (the late Dale) Goad, Richard Schmidt and the late Jerrold (Sherri) Schmidt. Proud grandfather of Chad (Marly) Clamage, Ashley (Casey) Hogan, Eric Clamage, Lauren Schmidt, Brian Schmidt, Dr. Lindsay (T.J.) Sayre, Matthew Goad, Allison (Fiancé Aron Hiltzik) Goad, Juliette Schmidt and Violet Schmidt. Cherished great grandfather of Eli, Grace and Ella. Dear son of the late Louis and the late Marian Schmidt. Dear son-in-law of the late Abraham and the late Freida Rosman. Dear brother of Dr. Joseph (Andrea) Schmidt and the late Sheldon (the late Cyril) Schmidt and brother-in-law of Morris Rosman and the late David (the late Gwen) Rosman. Fond uncle of many. Arthur was a veteran of both WW II and the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in engineering. His life’s work was in the structural steel fabrication industry in Chicago. Irwin enjoyed his family, synagogue, stamp collecting, bowling and watching sports and his grandchildren’s games. We were lucky to have him in our lives for so many years, he will be greatly missed. To keep everyone safe and healthy, the chapel service and interment are private.
