Arlene Sue Shamash, (née Posternack) beloved wife of Norman Shamash, happily married for 58 years; loving mother of Steven Shamash (Jomarie Fredericks), Marcy (Timothy) O'Brien, Debra (James) Ellis, and Brian Shamash; cherished Grandma of Stephanie and Lindsey O'Brien; Jessica, Benjamin and Samantha Ellis; Joseph, Nicole, Sarah and Andrew Shamash; beloved sister of the late Daniel Posternack (Lore); much-loved sister-in-law of the late Fred Shamash (Louise); Diane "Taffi" Saltzman (Robert); and Paulette Herkert (Robert); treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews; adored by her cousins and her dear friend of nearly 50 years, Barbara Helfgot. A pioneering member who devoted decades of service to Temple Chai in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, she fostered many cherished and long-lasting friendships in that community.Services are private.
