Alvin Robert Becker

Obituary

Alvin R. Becker, 83, loving husband of Sharon for 37 beautiful years; adored father to Julie Becker, Holly Zimmerman and to Sharon's children Lisa Weiss and Howard Stein; proud Zaidie to Molly, Helena, Ellie, Caleb, Louise, Beau, Sydney and Ryan. Alvin was blessed with life-long friends, many of which date back to his childhood on the northwest side of Chicago. He engaged all of those around him with his quick wit, his dry sense of humor and his "colorful" vocabulary. Alvin became a lawyer in 1959 and practiced up until his final days as a partner at Beermann LLP, where he excelled in his role as a corporate litigator. Al was a history buff with an eidetic memory and a passion for teaching others. He served as an adjunct law professor, most recently at Northwestern Law School. Al frequented museums and loved all art forms, especially opera. A loving grandfather, Alvin" kvelled "about his grandchildren's accomplishments, but his proudest achievement in life was marrying his wife Sharon, who loved him with unwavering support.
