Obituary

Alice "Lisl" Bogart nee Winternitz, 96, beloved wife of the late Henry for 71 years; loving mother of Jean (Dr. David) Chernicoff and Jessie (Steven) Pearl; cherished grandmother "Omi" of William (Bruna) Chernicoff, Jacki Chernicoff (Mark Woodger), Joshua (Julie) Pearl, Daniel (Shana) Pearl and Melissa (Nick) Morina; adored great grandmother of 10; treasured friend of many. As a Holocaust survivor Lisl made her life's work teaching the lessons of hatred and prejudice to future generations. She was integrally involved in getting The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center (In Skokie) established and getting Holocaust Education mandated in both Florida and Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center, www.hdec.org or the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, www.ushmm.org. Chapel service, Thursday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
