Obituary

Samuel Hoffman, age 84, beloved husband of Sharlene Hoffman, loving father of Bonnie (Robert) Kenney, cherished grandfather of Zack and Carly, much loved step father in-law to Phil (Helen) Kornick, Martin (Marta Miller) Kornick; adored grandfather of Aaron Kornick, Max Miller, Maria Kornick, and Heather Kornick l'v; Sam always enjoyed his deep conversations with SueEllyn Miller;
preceded in death by his dear brother Freddy Hoffman - together again. Sam was a best friend to all especially his Dumbbell Club. He is survived by Burt Bentkover, Larry Silver, and Chuck Glickman Spector. Many memories and adventures were shared with blessed friends. Special mention of Beverly Ann Spector for her lifelong commitment as more of a sister than a friend, and for Joel Frishman, who got Sam his school bus driver position in his retirement. Sam found great joy driving the high school kids around. Many thanks to all the doctors and medical support that took care of him with deep compassion and personal investment. Sam is survived by his beloved cats, Shekal and Euro, they will miss him. He took great pride in the successes of his family and was a role model as a husband, father, friend and grandfather. Chapel service Sunday, Sept 29, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment at Shalom Memorial Park.
