Obituary

Hal Chaitkin, age 104. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Natalie. Survived by his sons, Mark (Cecilia Storr), Stuart (Maria Merritt) and George (Millie Wolkowicz); grandchildren, Jennifer (Max) Puchtel, Betsy (Joel) Wertheim, Michael (Eva Noble); and great-grandchildren, Eli, Mira and Hannah Puchtel, and Naomi and Maya Wertheim. Hal was a proud veteran of World War II, serving almost 3 years overseas. He and his wife loved the Lyric Opera and the Chicago Symphony. He was an avid life-long fan of the Cubs, the Bears and the Blackhawks and always enjoyed an apple pancake from Walker Brothers. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org. A private family service will be held at Shalom Memorial Park.
