Obituary

Jerold "Jerry" Nabonsal, 88, April 29, 2021; beloved husband and best friend of Arlene (nee Sugarman) for 62 years; loving father of Jedd (Lena), Jill (Timothy Kane), and Dr. Jeff (Allison); cherished grandpa of Sabrina, Jackie, Alex, David, Ethan, Isaac, James, Joseph, Liam and Nathan. Born in Chicago on July 28, 1932 to parents Albert and Gertrude Nabonsal, Jerry grew up in Rogers Park, graduated from Sullivan High School, received his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and later owned and operated a successful automotive parts business. Throughout his life, he displayed a childlike interest in many things. He was an accomplished swimmer, lifeguard, boater, airplane pilot and lover of animals, especially his devoted companions Chico and Daisy. Most importantly, Jerry was a dedicated friend and a family man who loved his family endlessly. The family extends a special thank you to his dedicated caretaker Adam Prokopowicz.
