Obituary

Morton Stern, 87, beloved husband and best friend of Anne, nee Wilson, for 57 wonderful years; loving father of David (Kellie) Stern and Elizabeth "Mimi" (Tom) Frale; cherished Papa of Sarah Stern (Nick Thomka, fiancé), Hannah Stern, Brandon Frale, Michael Frale and Mark Frale; devoted son of the late Rose and David Stern; dear brother of the late Iris Beermann; treasured uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Mort spent his entire career at Motorola, Inc. Five years into his time at Motorola, he met a new secretary, Anne Wilson, who would become his wife six years later.
Mort retired from Motorola in 1999 as Corporate Vice President of Cellular Infrastructure. Upon learning of Mort's passing Chris Galvin, former CEO of Motorola, stated "Mort was a terrific contributor to Motorola Infrastructure business. And a superb human being. The Galvins were always appreciative of his work."
During retirement, Mort kept very busy volunteering his time. Most notably, Mort was a docent at the Illinois Holocaust Museum where he was a Moderator of the Holocaust Survivor Hologram. When Mort was not volunteering his time, he took great joy in building lasting memories with his grandchildren, whose love and admiration for each other was always mutual.
