Obituary

Carl Sheldon Shapiro, age 72; beloved husband and best friend for 50 years of Michelle Rochelle (Natanson) Shapiro; loving father of Joseph (Kandy) and Ricky (Jennifer); adoring Grandpa Carl of Sidney, Alex, Andrew, Nathan, Lea and Justin; dear brother of Mike Shapiro and brother-in-law of Dr. Charles (Elizabeth "Lisa") Natanson; fond uncle of Hannah Natanson.

Carl was born in Milwaukee, the son of the late Annabelle and Alex Shapiro.
He and Michelle met at John Marshall High School and were married in 1969. Carl was an excellent student and graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering as Valedictorian in 1971. His parents were especially proud since he was the first in the family to attend college. He spent 35 years working for Commonwealth Edison and raised his two sons in Wheeling, Illinois. Carl's hobbies including bicycling, cross country skiing and woodworking.

Carl was a very loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Chapel service Friday, November 8th at 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
