Obituary

Howard J. Adolph, age 95.
Beloved husband of the late Maita Honey Adolph nee Mittelman. Loving father of Lesly (David) Koo, Steven (Ellen Zfaney) Adolph, Lorin Adolph and Brad (Cheryl) Adolph. Proud grandfather of Bill (Beth) Adolph, Doug (Matt) London, Maddie Koo, Vivie Koo, Nathan Koo and Zachary Adolph. Cherished great grandfather of Evie, Nayan, Mabel and Calvin. Howard was a hero to both his country and to his family.  Howard grew up in Chicago and attended Hyde Park High School, University of Illinois and then graduated from Northwestern.  Serving under General Patton in WW2, he was involved in the invasion of D-Day and the defeat of the Nazi’s. One of his proudest achievements was being able to liberate Jews throughout Europe. After the War, he settled back in Chicago and spent 55 years married to his beloved Maita raising three sons and a daughter. Howard’s story telling was legendary and his delight in everyday life was inspiring.   No one in the history of the world derived more pleasure from lox and bagel than Howard. His involvement and appreciation in his children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities was unrivaled. Howard was the consummate entrepreneur and spent the majority of his career as President of Ambassador Installations – a hotel installation company. Throughout his career he worked on over 50 hotel projects both in the US and Internationally. Service Monday 10AM at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3751 N. Broadway Ave., Chicago. Interment Memorial Park.
