Obituary

Mark Shamberg, 68, cherished brother of Lee Shamberg; beloved cousin of Lynn (Shamberg) Tatar, Michael Shamberg, their families, and many other cousins. Mark was a retired employee of the Cook County Department of Public Aid for whom promoting Jazz and related music was a passionate vocation: he was proud to have co-founded Southend Music Works, a nonprofit which presented New & World Music events to Chicago audiences, and to have assembled a museum-quality family music library. A mixed live-action and Zoom ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 1, at 11:00 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road) Skokie, IL. Mark will be cremated in accordance with his wishes. To attend the funeral live stream, please visit our website.
