Obituary

Leo Rosenthal, age 85, died peacefully on September 25, 2022. The beloved husband for 59 years of Maureen; loving father of Steve (Stephanie) Rosenthal, Marcia Bruckman, Julie (Michael) Helfer; adored grandfather of Amanda, Brooke, and Matthew Rosenthal, Kyle and Courtney Bruckman, Emily and Jacob Helfer; Leo was the only child of the late Max and the late Bertha Rosenthal. He lived in Frankfort, Germany until age 5 when the family received a VISA to the United States during World War II. He grew up in Hyde Park, IL and graduated with a Finance degree from Roosevelt University. Leo and Maureen raised their family in Northbrook, IL and resided there for 40 years. Leo was a founding partner of Added Sales Company which is a very successful MFG Representative Agency in business for 60+ years. He was an ELITE salesperson where success was based on the concept of relationship building with customers. He is well known for having an extremely “large tent” of friends. He made friends with people in ALL walks of life.  Everybody knew Leo and loved interacting with him. Other than his love for family and work, he was an avid golfer, Champion Gin Rummy Player (Won National Las Vegas Tournament in 1965), and a known legend at both harness and thoroughbred horse racing venues. He maintained special relationships with all (7) of his grandchildren. Service Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel, 195 N Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove (1 blk North of Lake Cook Rd). Interment Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights. The service will be livestreamed on Leo’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
