Sheldon Mark Glickman, deeply loved for 78 years, longtime owner of East Lakeview furniture store, New Town Interiors, beloved husband for 48 years of the late Barbara Glickman; loving father of Gayle (Adam Satcowitz) Glickman and Robert Glickman; adored Papa of Vanessa, Audrina, Peyton and Samantha; devoted son of the late Violet Glickman, and the late Albert Glickman, and dear brother of the late Elaine (Earl) Sussman; devoted uncle of RJ (Diana) Sussman, and Jessica (Gary) Barr.
Shelly’s family and friends will remember his calm, patient, soothing nature, his light-hearted, joke-filled demeanor, his contagious smile, and boundless love and support. Shelly served on the East Prairie School (EPS) District #73 Board in Skokie for 22 years, four years as president, and 16 years as finance chairman; he served as the treasurer of Ezra-Habonim, The Niles Township Jewish Congregation, Skokie, for more than a decade; and he served as the treasurer of the New Light Cemetery in Lincolnwood for two decades. Service Thursday, 10 am, at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). Interment Waldheim Cemetery.
