Obituary

Raymond Diamond, 101, of Lincolnwood, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Highland Park, IL.

Ray was born in Chicago, IL to Esther and Max Diamond on December 12, 1920. Ray starred on the basketball team at Crane High School and later served in the army during WWII. Ray owned Diamond Shoes in Chicago for over 40 years. He was a lifelong Chicago sports fan.

Ray is survived by his wife for over 75 years, Rosalie; daughter Bonnie (Stan) Robbin and daughter-in-law Gayle (Ira) Kopin; grandchildren, Marisa (Michael), Adam (Heather), Talia (Sam), Liz and Megan; great-grandchildren Matan, Brody, Sagiv, Hadley & Madalyn; nephews, Howie (Maia) and Larry.

Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Esther; father, Max; his son, Jack; his daughter, Eileen; and his in-laws, Marge and Harry Labow, and Julian and Jackie Labow. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Julius, Peter, and Jofe, for their dedicated care.

Graveside service Friday, March 18th at 1:30 p.m. for family only. The service will be livestreamed on Raymond’s page at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
