Obituary

Gordon A. Rubin, age 85, of Northbrook, formerly of Skokie, proprietor of a multi-generational family owned, Chicagoland business, M. Hyman & Son, for big and tall men clothing since 1900. He wore #74 as a football player at University of Illinois; he was the beloved husband and best friend for 65 years of Harriet Rubin, nee Hyman; loving father of Monica Birnbaum, Lori Rubin, Steven (partner Jim Skrentny) Rubin, and Jackie (Michael) Jacobs; adored grandfather of Danny, Stephanie, Liza, Dustin, Kyra, Jonah, Noah, and Jordyn; devoted son of the late Meyer and the late Diana Rubin; dear brother of Carrie Horn. Gordon was a volunteer extraordinaire at Heartland Animal Shelter. The memorial service will be private; it will be livestreamed Friday, 12 Noon CDT at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
