Ira Stuart Gilbert, age 87, retired attorney, raised his family in Highland Park, beloved husband for 63 years of Diane, nee Mitchel; loving father of Pamela Gilbert and Larry (Marla) Gilbert; adored Papa of Joey and Lindsey Kalmin, Madelyn and Taylor Gilbert, and the late Marlee Kalmin; dear brother-in-law of the late Michael (Carol) Mitchel; treasured uncle and friend to many. Ira was a loyal Freemason. He was a Master Mason for over 53 years and was honored with both the Dellefield Award and the Torok Medal. A devoted Masonic scholar, Ira’s articles were published numerous times in various publications. The service and shiva will be private. The service will be Zoomed Sunday, 1:30 p.m. CST at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
