Bruce H. Reynolds, Jr.

Obituary

Bruce H. Reynolds, Jr. was born on January 16, 1964 in Waco, Texas the son of the late Dr. Bruce H. Reynolds, Sr. and Ellen B. Reynolds. He died January 11, 2021 in Evanston, IL. Shortly after his birth, the family returned to Evanston, IL where Bruce grew-up and remained a resident for the remainder of his life. Bruce graduated from Evanston Township High School (E.T.H.S.) in 1981 where he was named a National Achievement Award Scholar and a member of the Evanston Chapter of the National Honor Society. He also was a member of the E.T.H.S. baseball team for four years. He attended the University of California – San Diego (UCSD) and graduated in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Bruce had a career as an Analytical Chemist and was employed at various organizations throughout the Chicago area. Bruce was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders football team, the Netherlands soccer team and rooted for the Chicago Bears. He was a collector of music from the late 60’s and early 70’s. His favorite musicians were Bob Marley, Jimi Hendricks, and Led Zeppelin. He had formed a band called “Avatar” while in high school. Bruce enjoyed many and various cuisines. He liked to eat, often! Bruce was a devoted member of the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation. Bruce is survived and loved by his wife DeLola, sons Seth and Brandon, mother Ellen, sister Jana, and niece Catherine, all of Evanston, IL; aunt Susan Miller, cousins Jamie Miller and James Miller Jr. and their respective children of Hyattsville, MD, cousins Roger Ward of Los Angeles, CA, Guy Ward of New Orleans, LA, and a host of other relatives and friends. Bruce, you have left a hole in the family that can never be filled. Soar with the angels. Take your well-deserved rest. You will be missed.
