In Loving Memory of

Gerald "Gerry" Entman

Obituary

Gerald “Gerry” Entman, September 22, 1931- January 6, 2021.

Gerry Entman had a larger-than-life personality and is not someone who could ever be appropriately memorialized with a mere series of brief paragraphs. Suffice it to say, Gerry was a brilliant, engaging, and colorful man who lived a long and very full life. From his childhood in depression-era Brooklyn through his time in the Coast Guard to his success at the highest levels of corporate America to traveling the world with Margie to his role as the boisterous, loving and cigar-smoking father and then grandfather, he embraced it all and cherished every moment.

Best described as “gruff and lovable”, Gerry was a man from a different time when people said what they meant and meant what they said. Those fortunate enough to be considered a friend knew that while he was often short on patience and long on opinion, the depth of his generosity was unmatched. Never one to stand on pretense, Gerry enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone and treated every person he ever met with kindness and respect.

Gerry had a gregarious personality and perpetual grin which people were naturally drawn to and in nearly every situation he would become the de facto master of ceremonies. Gerry was a fun loving and truly unique man who brought so much joy to so many people. Among those who knew him, the mere mention of his name would bring a smile to their faces. His absence will be felt for years to come but the loving memories of him will endure far longer.

Gerry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family. He leaves behind four daughters, Jenny, Leigh, Kari and Lauren, four sons-in-law, Jordan, Jason, Elliot and Craig, ten grandchildren, Cooper, Charlie, Henry, Callie, Margie, Jessie, Daniel, Melissa, Jeffrey and Allyson, and one sister-in-law, Elise. Gerald was predeceased by his beloved wife Margie and his brother Frederick. He also leaves behind a countless number of friends and fond memories for all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice or provide a kind gesture that would honor and appropriately reflect Gerry's memory.
